finding solace in make believe,
projecting my own image on screens.

Longing for solace and calm,
trying to find it in memories.

When everything is pain,
and each breath a curse.
My mornings are as grey as the ashes in my lungs.
They are as thick as the poison in my blood.

When your every achievement feels like a failure.
And a lack of perspective holds you in place.

I dream of careless youth beneath the perennial hillside.
The feeling of rain running down our bodies.
